Anaxee Tech selected for UIDAI Authentication Proof of Concept studies:

June 2011, Anaxee Technologies, a leading player in Biometrics in India has been short listed by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) for proof of concept studies being conducted for Aadhaar Authentication Services.

Once unique ID number is generated for Indian citizen, the next step will be to use these numbers for authentication during delivering citizen services. Authentication will consist of a computer / mobile computing device, connected to internet and a fingerprint reader, running UIDAI Auth application for citizen verification. The citizen will be asked for its UID number allotted by UIDAI, and touch his finger' print on single fingerprint scanner connected to the computer. The combination of UID number and fingerprint template will be sent to UIDAI servers for authentication, the UIDAI server will reply Yes / No for said request. Once, citizen gets authorized, services due to him / her can be delivered. Auth will bring fool proof citizen verification in current delivery of public services.

Anaxee Technologies is working closely with UIDAI and UID Tech Center in Bangalore for integrating multiple fingerprint sensor for Aadhaar authentication. Initially, UIDAI has technically approved solution provided by Anaxee Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

UIDAI Authentication trials will help in doing a comparative testing of different fingerprint scanners & technologies, using multiple extractors. UIDAI may publish its studies once PoC is over.
